Julie Allison is a Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine specializing in pain management, women’s health, digestive issues, autoimmune conditions, stress, and anxiety. She is Board certified as a Diplomat of Oriental Medicine and Herbal Medicine by the National Commission of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM), and is a certified Mei Zen cosmetic acupuncture practitioner. She received her Masters of Traditional Chinese Medicine (MTCM) from Five Branches University in California in 2012, and her Doctorate of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (DAOM) in 2016. Having attended Ashley Hall High School, the College of Charleston and MUSC, she is happy to be serving the Charleston community.
Julie began her medical career as a Cardiovascular Perfusionist. After receiving her degree from MUSC in 2003, she worked in Myrtle Beach and Charleston until deciding to branch out into a more holistic and alternative health care practice. In 2007 she relocated to Santa Cruz, CA to attend Five Branches University for Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).
Having studied Western Medicine in addition to Chinese Medicine, Julie incorporates a wide range of knowledge and modalities into her healing practice and believes in an integrative and holistic approach to healing. Utilizing acupuncture, herbs, and functional medicine, Julie treats a wide range of conditions. Through treatment, education, and support, Julie seeks to assist her patients in creating and maintaining optimal health and wellness.
